Barkingside went into this game unbeaton in 4 games and was hoping for a win against Southend Manor.
Unfortunately after playing 3 games in 6 days the players looked tired and jaded from the start.
Southend Manor started the game with 5 on loan Tilbury players and they quickly bossed the game.
Barkingside were 2-0 down after only 16 minutes when Brad Vaughen scored on 14 minutes and Jay Smith scored on 16 minutes.
Barkingside tried to play some football but Southend Manor defended well.
On 25 minutes Barkingside were awarded a penalty and Jordan Toln scored from the spot to make it 2-1.
Barkingside pushed forward loking for an equaliser but Southend Manor defended well and always looked dangerous on the counter attack.
On 44 minutes Southend Manor increased their lead when Chris Taylor scored to make it 3-1 which was the score at the break.
In the second half Barkingside played a lot better and dominated the play but were unable to score.
Southend Manor were happy to sit back and defend and eventually Barkingside pushed forward and southend broke out on 67 minutes and Chris Brown scored to make it 4-1 and settle the game.
This was a dissappointing result but hopefully Barkingside can take revenge next Saturday in the league game.
